Chair Report and Update

  • Zucca’s – monthly income – if snow day, cancelled (as with other food item orders)
  • Pop Up Smoothie – April/May – 2 flavours – Bradford location delivers, EG does not
  • Pro Grant– Submitted – awaiting approval
  • Jump Start Grant – has been submitted
  • Canda Post Grant – has been submitted
  • TD Grant – to be completed
  • Environmental Grant - Where are grants/minutes housed when completed? C.Mott suggested binder in office as Meeting Minutes/Grants/Treasurer Reports used to be housed – Parent Council items should be accessible – reference for future events/grants/etc.
  • Movie Night – grade 4-6 – success (over 50 students attended) – next year potential to change movie night grades – JK - Grade 2 & Grade 3 - 5
  • Outdoor Movie Night – for all families – Katie leading
  • Good Deeds Cup – lots of participants – 574 tickets submitted to date (Feb 20/25)
    • Alanna’s husband built wooden base for trophy - Thank you
    • Shauna made box for tickets – Thank you
    • Thank you to teachers to assist with promotion
    • Plaque for Monday, February 24 – poster for door; premium snacks; flag for classroom made by Shauna – Thank you
    • Run twice this year
  • Coops Dinner – not enough members to vote on at this meeting
  • Dance-A-Thon - $1200 current expenses + senior dance expenses to come
    • DJ, Balloon Arch (donated by Kris M – thank you), wristbands, glow in the dark stickers
    • Grade 6-8 dance – April 25 or May 1 – Need volunteers
    • Poster Contest – 3 entries
  • Skating Night – April 3 – East Gwillimbury Sports Complex – 5-6pm – free ice (save $230) – photo booth, popcorn for kids
  • Bingo Night – DJ Quote (hoping for $250)
    • $10 cost – 5 rounds - 2 game cards/game – 10 in total, colour coded
    • $750 budget for this event
    • Concession stand – snacks, pizza/drinks
    • Early May, evening event

Administration Report 

  • Snow – complaints re: snow plowing – Other caretaking team came in on Family Day Monday (AM)
  • Indoor recess – threshold is -20 degrees Celsius
  • Tarmac only – thawing/ice – students able to still go on pathway
  • Portables – losing 2, maybe 3 – unsure when being removed
  • Junior/Intermediate outdoor playground – Two quotes submitted - Awaiting third pricing quote
